In the latest episode of Teen Mom: Family Reunion, Ashley Jones received a difficult update.
She received a call from her husband, Bar Smith, informing her that he was being moved to a different prison.
“I got some bad news,” he told her over the phone.
He informed her that he was currently being held in prison in Nevada, but that he was being sent back to California where the couple used to live.
Bar’s extradition would mean even more difficulty in her being able to see him, and Ashley broke down immediately.
“It’s just much more time not seeing him,” Ashley told cameras on the show.
“This case actually does hold a lot of weight, and if he can’t fight it from home and he fights from jail, and then he also gets time.”
Luckily for Ashley, her mother Tea was there to give her support.
“We gonna have to pray Bar out of this,” she told her daughter. “And you can’t do that when your mind ain’t right.”
“We got a job to do at this point, this is hard for my family,” she said tearfully.
“It’s a fugitive charge because he’s not in the state where his case took place. And that is how he was taken into custody,” Ashley explained on Family Reunion.
The Ashley’s Reality Roundup previously reported that Bar Smith was being held on a felony charge of being a fugitive of justice from another state. He was arrested in Nevada on August 22, and now his bail has been set.
In a follow-up by Starcasm, it was reported that Bar’s bond was set at a whopping $100,000. This is a result of his charges for DUI as well as willful discharge of a firearm in a negligent manner.
Bar was initially denied bond after representing himself at his extradition hearing, which took place two days after his arrest. His bond was subsequently set at $100,000 after his following hearing, which took place on September 15.
The reason for Bar’s significant bond is likely related to his previous charges; Bar was previously arrested in May 2021 for willful discharge of a firearm in a negligent manner, a felony. The case is still pending, but there is no information about whether or not that charge is related to his most recent arrest.
