Singer and guitarist best known as the frontman of Gang of Youths. The group's 2015 single "Magnolia" is about his mental health struggles. He was a songwriter on the band's albums including 2015's The Positions and 2017's Go Farther in Lightness.

He and his bandmates were friends from childhood. As a teenager, he developed a substance abuse problem.

In 2018, he shared an open letter on Instagram on the anniversary of surviving a suicide attempt. In 2018, he released a duet called "Drover" with Dan Sultan.

He was raised by his parents in inner-west Sydney. He has Jewish Samoan heritage. He lived in England with his second wife Cort Bray.
