Even though there has been much debate about the movie musical La La Land since its high-profile release in 2016, it’s by far one of the most popular modern musicals. Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling sang their way into our hearts and into big box office returns.

The film ultimately didn’t win the Academy Award for Best Picture, but Stone did take home Best Actress on top of five additional wins for Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Original Score, Best Original Song and Best Production Design.

Stone stars in La La Land as aspiring actress Mia Dolan, who happens to meet jaded jazz enthusiast Sebastian Wilder (Ryan Gosling) in two chance encounters. Before long, the pair’s paths cross as their relationship grows and their dreams become closer than ever.

Years after its massive release and impact on pop culture, fans might be looking to revisit the major blockbuster. Can Netflix subscribers add the musical to their watch lists? Here’s what you need to know about where to watch La La Land online.

Unfortunately, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling aren’t tapping their way onto our Netflix watch lists right now. As of June 2021, La La Land isn’t available to watch on Netflix. But since it has been on the streamer before, perhaps it will someday return in the future.

If you were hoping to get your “City of Stars” fix on Netflix, you could also catch Stone and Gosling star opposite each other as romantic leads in the rom-com Crazy, Stupid, Love. Although the famous pair doesn’t sing and dance in that one, it’s still a delightful watch.

La La Land doesn’t appear to be officially available to watch on any streaming service such as Netflix or HBO Max right now, though it is available with a Cinemax add-on on Hulu. Of course, the movie can be rented and purchased on various on-demand platforms like Apple and Prime Video.
