One of the best movies from the past decade is now streaming on Netflix! Jake Gyllenhaal and Hugh Jackman star in the 2013 film Prisoners, directed by award-winning filmmaker Denis Villeneuve.

Prisoners stars Jackman as Keller Dover, a desperate father whose daughter is kidnapped with her friend one day. The police, led by Detective Loki (Gyllenhaal), arrest one suspect but then release him, leading Keller to take matters into his own hands in a desperate bid to save his daughter.

Apart from Gyllenhaal and Jackman, Prisoners also stars Paul Dano, Viola Davis, Maria Bello, Terrence Howard, and Melissa Leo. The film’s impressive cast helped it earn numerous accolades and awards when it was released in 2013, including receiving an Academy Award nomination for Best Cinematography.

Within just a few days of being added to the Netflix streaming catalog, the film skyrocketed to the number one spot on Netflix’s top ten chart.

According to the online geographic tool LatLong, Prisoners was filmed on location in Atlanta and Conyers, Georgia, in the United States. Collider also previously confirmed that production would take place on the 2013 movie in Georgia. Even though the movie is set in Pennsylvania, “on location” means that it was filmed in real places and not on soundstages.

LatLong also names some of the specific locations where Prisoners was filmed, like the Atlanta Medical Center, Village Square Shopping Center, Stone Mountain, and even addresses where the homes were set, like Keller Dover’s house and more. There are a few other specific locations mentioned in the article, but overall it looks like the movie was filmed entirely on location in Georgia.
