There are many good K-Dramas streaming on Netflix, but most of them fall into the romance genre. I’m not saying this is a bad thing, but there should be more options. Fortunately, the streamer has recognized the need for more Korean series of other genres and released the fantasy series, Alchemy of Souls.

Alchemy of Souls premiered on Netflix on June 18 with its first episode. The K-Drama was directed by Park Joon-hwa and written by Hong Jung-eun and Hong Mi-ran. As of Aug. 18, the show is still ongoing with new episodes released every Saturday and Sunday. The expected season finale release date is on Aug. 28.

If you’re unfamiliar with the series, it’s about a powerful enchantress named Nak-su whose soul gets accidentally trapped in a blind woman’s body (Mu-deok). To make things worse, the blind woman is the lowly house servant of a man from a prestigious family named Jang Uk. As the sorceress works for the nobleman, she also secretly teaches him how to fight.
