Jessie Blodgett, a talented teen, was found dead in her bed on July 15, 2013, after being sexually raped by her ex-boyfriend and being strangled.
The victim’s mother called for emergency after she realized her daughter was not responding and her body was cold.

According to the most recent report, detectives think Blodgett was gagged, choked, and had her ankles and wrists tied.

Police said the two had dated in high school and were hanging out together, however they do not yet know their motivation.

After confessing to a separate attack on a lady in a Richfield park on July 12, Bartelt was detained on July 17. In connection with that assault, in which the victim claims she was cut with a knife, he is accused of committing three felonies.
