Hugh Skinner is a dashing English actor and newcomer to The Witcher universe. He joined the cast for the third season and plays Prince Radovid, younger brother to King Vizimir. In the books, Radovid is a rather infamous villain and the son of Vizimir, but the show has tweaked his storyline a little bit. We meet Skinner’s version of the character in The Witcher season 3 part1.

Mild spoilers ahead for The Witcher season 3

Fans are excited to see Skinner in the show for a few reasons, but perhaps most notably because he will be a love interest for Joey Batey’s lovable bard character Jaskier. The idea of Jaskier being queer has been hinted at on the show since the start, and even though his character isn’t queer in the books, on the show, Batey has confirmed Jaskier to be pansexual or panromantic.

It’s unknown if Skinner is in a relationship right now, but he is gay in real life and recently spoke to Gay Times about how excited he is to play a gay character in a show as popular as The Witcher.

"“I wouldn’t want to predict how anyone might respond to it, but all I can say, as a gay guy myself, is it was a thrilling opportunity to play an LGBTQ+ character in a show of this genre and with this much reach. It’s just been so exciting and a real privilege. In terms of how anyone responds to it, I have no idea!”"

Outside of The Witcher, Hugh Skinner is best known for his roles in musical films like Les Misérables and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, where he played the younger version of Colin Firth’s character Harry.

Most recently, he starred in the gothic horror film The Invitation as Oliver Alexander, currently streaming on Netflix.
